Once you have landed in Mauritius, there are many ways for you to reach the Villas. What better way to discover the island than by helicopter? For skilled drivers, there is a wide range of luxury cars at your disposition. The convertible Mini Cooper, equipped with a GPS, will allow you to admire the beautiful countryside while enjoying the warmth of the sun on your face. For those who would like a more spacious and comfortable chauffeur-driven car, the BMW X7 is ideal for large families. However, the ultimate height of luxury is the limousine: 7m20 in length, ultra comfortable, modern, with a leather interior and equipped with a mini-bar and a DVD player... what an oh-so-fantastic way to start your holidays in the sun!

Sameer Rusooly, who was recently recruited by the Villas Sankhara, has come to embellish our team of Butlers. Before joining us at the Villas Sankhara, he worked at Le Touessrok Hotel for six years. During this time he had the opportunity of serving some of the great men of our time, including Sir Richard Branson, a British entrepreneur and founder of the Virgin Group, Gerard Depardieu, the world renowned French actor and Steve McClaren, an English Football coach. After leaving Le Touessrok, he spent 6 months working for an Arab Sheik. Sameer believes that only the very best will do for his clients: quality is priceless. “I've come to bring that little extra touch to the Villas Sankhara and take it a step further towards Excellence”, says Sameer. A real perfectionist, he delivers only the finest service; everything is thought of in minute detail to ensure absolute client satisfaction. 20. Wedding

« An unforgettable day » « thank you for your kindness »… the wedding organised in October for Swiss clients was a huge success. The Villas Sankhara: endless ideas, a vast network of service providers, the expertise and professionalism to reach the height of your expectations and desires.

After many months of preparation and anticipation, we finally had the pleasure of organising our first wedding on the beach in front of the Villas. The brilliant white of the wedding arch was a perfect contrast to the pristine turquoise blue of the Indian Ocean… Everyone's happiness was palpable and laughter filled the air.

After exchanging their vows, the rings and the traditonal wedding kiss to seal their eternal love, grains of rice rained down on the newly weds… a promise of love and of a prosperous life together. As the twenty-two guests slowly recovered from their emotions, a special Mauritian “ti-punch”, accompanied by little vegetable and prawn samousas, was served to toast the happy couple…

As night began to fall, the seafood buffet was prepared in the tropical garden near the Villa Tiara, as requested by the wedding couple. Grilled lobster, fresh fish - caught the same morning - marinated and slowly cooked to perfection, tomatoes filled with crabmeat… and a special surprise; a caramel ‘pièce montée' and a fruit and almond wedding cake covered in cream, to the pure delight of the young, and even the not-so-young!

The garden was filled with an air of magic… fairy lights were wrapped around the trees and candles shone throughout the garden. The guests were still chattering joyfully around the large table as the lively beat of the music began to echo through the night.

10. Housekeeping

With their warm smiles, sparkling eyes and thoughtfulness, Diya, Rekha, Roshni, Sunita and Hussain, who were trained in some of the best establishments in Mauritius, form part of the Housekeeping team at the Villas Sankhara.

With a total surface area of 980 metres² and built in teak and rosewood from top to bottom, the upkeep of the villas is a real challenge. Yet the Housekeeping team manage to keep the wooden facades shining, the marble bathrooms immaculate and the decorative objects imported from Bali and spread throughout the villa, polished to perfection. Given the nickname, ‘The fairy godmothers', the team is responsible for ensuring that our guests feel right at home. Relaxing in the calm and beauty of the villa, looking out towards the glistening sea, is pure bliss for the eyes and the soul.

The refinement and professionalism of the team can be witnessed through their delicate attentions; courtesy treats left on the bed at night, bubble baths with floating pink fuchsia bougainvilleas petals, the sweet perfume of wax and flowers languorously filling the air….

It is safe to say that the art of Cocooning has been mastered by the Villas Sankhara team…
